Overview
June is a startup that needed help with their upcoming product launch. I lead the digital portion that supported their new brand and hero product, an intelligent oven. I worked closely with June's founders as well as our internal branding and strategy team to successfully introduce this new type of product to consumers.
Discovery
Prior to the design phase I dove into the competitive landscape to see how similar companies were communicating new technology to consumers. I also interviewed the June team to learn about their value prop and what makes their product unique, as well as any challenges we may be facing.
Design
During the design phase my focus was two fold. I wanted to connect product features to user pain points and explain the impressive tech behind the product. I also wanted to demonstrate the positive impact the June Oven can make in the day to day lives of customers and their families.
Wireframes
Homepage
In order to show both the positive impact of modernizing your kitchen as well as outlining the functional features I created a two panel layout. The panel on the left tells the story of owning a June Oven. As the owner of a smart oven you don't need to hover over your food as it cooks or be anxious about over cooking or undercooking your dish. You can spend more time doing what you love, while knowing that your meal will come out just the way you like it every time. On the right panel the associated features are outlined to support our story.
The product
I wanted to answer any questions users may have before they even ask, and provide any information they would need to feel secure in their purchase. I found that what their few competitors did effectively was incorporate video testimonials, which I wanted to feature on the page. I also wanted to leverage beautiful product photography alongside descriptions to show off the design features as well.
Resources - Get Started
I wanted a robust hub for content aimed both at potential buyers and active users. For recent customers, set up information and FAQs. For customers of all levels, a place to go to for tips and new recipes. For potential buyers, a section to reassure them and show them how simple it is to set up and use the June Oven.
